Welcome to Zen in Mississippi, the website for Zen practice groups in Starkville, Mississippi; Jackson, Mississippi; and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. These groups are led by Tony Bland, a Zen Monk and teacher who has been practicing since 1984. We offer zazen (seated meditation), periodic sesshins (retreats), and an occasional "Introduction to Zen Buddhism" workshop (see Events & Schedules). Our website is currently under construction, so the amount of information on it is limited, but we wanted to let you know that we are here and that we welcome those who want to practice with us or inquiries about our practice.
