Welcome to Zen in Mississippi, the website for formal Zen practice groups in Starkville and Jackson, Mississippi, and an informal sitting group in Hattiesburg . These groups are led by Tony Bland, a Zen Monk and teacher who has been practicing since 1984. We offer zazen (seated meditation), periodic sesshins (retreats), and an occasional "Introduction to Zen Buddhism" workshop (see Events & Schedules). We hope you enjoy browsing our website.
